Ha. I remember being like those girls. Herman's Hermits are on the old-folks tour circuit now. My parents saw them last year at one of their like $5 events they attend regularly.
i love herman's hermits! i met peter once in a park. and yes, it was on the old folk's tour. because that is how i roll.

I think this is a trick of Ed Sullivan. In his sick and twisted version of a prank, he's forcing those dreamy chaps from England to perform in front of a million cats simultaneously being skinned alive. Sure, Peter is smiling like the nice young man he is, but right off screen Ed is holding a "really big gun" right to his head and braying like a jackal saying, "Those American fools at home do not see the horror you do. So sing like the merry troubadour you are and I will revel in my horrible madness!"
